I have a band; what is a good, easy, and cheap way to record songs?

And also be able to put the songs on our MySpace?

And if you have any other tips for begining bands please tell me! We're young and really want to get big

No recording method satisfies all 3 of the "cheap, easy, good" trifecta, no matter what anyone tells you.

If it's cheap and easy, it sure as hell won't be good. And if it's good, it probably wasn't that easy (unless, again, your recording gear was really nice and expensive).

Cheapest %26amp; easiest is probably the 'garage band' program for your PC (but it's not that great sounding if you rush through it)

Any microphone or program or piece of decent equipment is going to be costly, especially for someone who wants it done "cheap %26amp; easy"

for "good, cheap, %26amp; easy", i'd say go to a recording studio (not necessarily a huge, legit, expensive one), and do a demo there. The studio having all of the equipment %26amp; knowledge will save you a ton of time/money/headaches.

If not a full-out studio, maybe you have a friend or a friend-of-a-friend who has some good gear, or a good computer program %26amp; firewire interface, and knows how to use it.

From experience, I've finally finished my little home studio, which sounds about as close to professional as you can get without being professional, and it's taken me around $8,000.00 and 2 years to get it done.

CHECK OUT A DIGITAL RECORDER, USUALLY AROUND 200-400 DOLLARS FOR 8 TRACKS, A FEW INEXPENSIVE CONDENSER MICS, USUALLY 99-120 DOLLARS, A STAND ALONE COMPRESSOR(DBX), BERRINGER--THESE TWO ARE MY PICS...........

RECORD IN A ROOM THAT IS AS QUIET AS POSSIBLE,
